NOK started its operation at the 1939 inauguration of the first specialty manufacturer of oil seals in Japan

October 1961

NOK stock listed in Second Division, Tokyo Stock Exchange

January 1962

NOK stock listed in First Division, Tokyo Stock Exchange

Founded Nippon Mektron, Ltd.

January 1971

Started operation of Mektron Minani Ibaraki Plant (South Plant)

September 1986

Nippon Mektron established Mektec Corporation (Taiwan) to manufacture products such as electric parts and polyurethane rubber products

May 1987

Nippon Mektron established Mektec Corporation in the United State to manufacture electric parts such as flexible printed circuits

May 1996

Nippon Mektron established Mektec Corporation in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand

February 1998

Established NOK Microelectronics Ltd., under a joint venture agreement with Nippon Mektron Ltd., and Nippon Steel Chemical Corporation, for the purpose of manufacturing and selling flexture for wireless suspension of the hard disk drive unit (HDD), etc.

March 1998

Annual sales in fiscal 1997 exceeded 200 billion yen

May 2000

Mektec Corporation ends its manufacturing business in the US.

August 2000

Inauguration of Mektec International Corporation (MIC) to support local existing and new customers.
